The Quality Engineer (QE) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that manufacturing operations consistently deliver products that meet strict customer and industry quality standards. In this full‑time, direct hire position, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality systems throughout the production process. This role requires hands‑on collaboration with various departments, including production, engineering, suppliers, and customers, to proactively address quality challenges and drive continuous improvement.
As a Quality Engineer, you will focus on the creation and refinement of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and necessary documentation to ensure compliance with established quality management systems, such as ISO 9001. The successful candidate will utilize advanced problem‑solving techniques, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), to resolve both internal and customer‑reported quality issues.
Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the Quality Engineer will lead efforts to develop and validate inspection methods, support first‑article inspections, and facilitate process capability studies. By analyzing quality data—including statistical process control (SPC), scrap rates, and rework metrics—the Quality Engineer will identify trends, recommend improvements, and implement initiatives to reduce defects throughout the manufacturing cycle.
In addition to these core responsibilities, the Quality Engineer will assist with supplier quality activities, such as conducting supplier audits and ensuring effective follow‑up on corrective actions. The role also involves responding to customer quality inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in quality tools and methodologies, such as FMEA, SPC, and CAPA, while gaining valuable experience with industry standards like ISO 9001 and processes such as PPAP and APQP.
The work environment for the Quality Engineer is dynamic, spanning both office and hands‑on manufacturing settings. The role requires regular movement between production and quality areas, supporting inspections, testing, and process evaluations. Candidates should be comfortable navigating active production floors and using required personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards.
