Full-Time | School Calendar: Summers & Holidays Off | Rockdale County, GA (Atlanta Metro: Conyers area, about 25 minutes east of Atlanta)

Help students see their own potential. Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to give blind and visually impaired students the skills, tools, and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

• Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments.
• Write and carry out IEP goals for each student on your caseload, and take part in IEP meetings.
• Teach skills from the expanded core curriculum, such as braille, assistive technology, and self-advocacy.
• Adapt materials and partner with classroom teachers so students can access the general curriculum.
• Keep families involved and share quarterly progress reports.
• Work with therapists and school staff on behavior supports and a safe, productive learning environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Georgia educator certification with the Special Education Visual Impairment (P-12) field, or eligibility to obtain it (we'll help!)
• Experience working with K-12 students
