Project Manager (Heavy Civil)

We’re working with an established heavy civil contractor specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure to recruit a Project Manager for its growing team.

The company delivers essential municipal infrastructure, including treatment plants, pump stations, large-diameter pipelines and underground utilities. This is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects with an experienced contractor that offers long-term career progression.

You’ll manage projects from preconstruction through completion, taking responsibility for budgets, schedules, procurement and client relationships. Working closely with Superintendents and field teams, you’ll ensure work is delivered safely, to specification and within budget.

• Manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasting and financial reporting.
• Coordinate Superintendents, Project Engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee procurement, subcontract agreements and material deliveries.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and pay applications.
• Build strong relationships with owners, engineers and project stakeholders.
• Identify constructability issues and resolve challenges with field teams.
• Monitor self-performed work, production rates and project costs.
• Maintain safety and quality standards through project closeout.

• Project management experience with a heavy civil general contractor.
• Experience delivering water/wastewater infrastructure, underground utilities, pipelines, pump stations or treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, scheduling and cost control.
• Experience coordinating self-performing crews and subcontractors.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with municipal clients and engineers.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Design-build or CMAR experience would be an advantage.
